For those not in the veterinary profession the phrase “valgus” sounds like a evil Soviet Bloc communist KGB agent who probably featured in that James Bond movie whose name you can’t quite remember. In reality, what it means is that your legs are coming in less than straight, (in the case of the photos below because you had septicemia at 2 days of life and ended up with damaged growth plates). For those interested in strange medical terminology the following chronological set of photos will be of interest, (and those who were hoping this page would be about a Mr. Valgus the KGB agent being eaten by goats should give up now). Starting a 1 1/2 months of age Fugly had staples implanted in the growth plates on both knees, in order to straighten them out as he grows up. This is his photo album.
*Update: He has had his staples removed as of 2016 and is doing good. He has a slight hitch in one leg that over corrected before the staples came out, but otherwise he can actually run now!* 😀
